Hawkswood School is in need of a full time Job Coach / instructional paraprofessional to work in the school-to-work transition program. Job Coaches work closely with students under the direction of the Work-Based Learning Coordinator in meeting each student's individual program goals.
This position is available immediately.
Duties and Responsibilities
Job Coaches support students in:
- discovering and developing vocational interests
- developing work habits and skills that will maximize success after high school
- developing the social skills necessary to be a working, contributing member of the community
- clarifying vocational goals
- identifying support needs and job modifications necessary to ensure each student’s continued success
The Job Coach provides on-site training, behavioral support, and advocacy for student interns with a variety of community employers. The job coach also assesses student abilities and performance, fosters independence and fades prompts appropriately.
- The Job Coach documents student progress and interventions
- The Job Coach collaborates effectively with team members in support of the needs of assigned students
The Job Coach is also a member of the transportation team, with responsibility for:
- carrying out and enforcing safety protocols and procedures especially relating to arrival and dismissal
- collaborating with all staff in regards to safety, transportation and student needs
Hawkswood School provides a competitive annual salary (between $31,800 and $62,000 based upon level of education achieved and years of experience) and full benefit package that includes medical, prescription, dental, vision, life insurance, long term disability, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) retirement plan and paid time off.

High School Diploma
Prior experience working with adolescents
