About the Department
This is a part time pharmacy technician afternoon and/or evening instructor position. The instructor will
provide instruction in accordance with certifying agency's standards of the Pharmacy Technician
Certification Board (PTCB) and Sand hills Community College's requirements.
• Preparing and providing class instruction in accordance with lesson outlines and agency standards.
• Excellent management, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a classroom that is safe, attractive, and conducive to learning.
Position Duties
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following
• Provide effective and high-quality Pharmacy Technician course instruction which aligns with Pharmacy
Technician Certification Board (PTCB} standards and sec instructional requirements.
• Maintain accurate course records and submit college reports in a timely fashion.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
• Maintain positive and professional interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, staff and
administration at the college.
• Respond to emails from students, colleagues, Directors, Deans, Vice Provost, Provost, and President in a
timely and professional fashion.
• Demonstrate college-wide competencies of Integrity, Excellence, Respect, Opportunity, and Helpfulness.
Minimum Qualifications
Required education and experience:
• Minimum of three (3) years' successful work experience within the last five (5) years as a Pharmacy
Technician.
Preferred education and experience:
• Associate degree with a minimum of three (3) years successful work experience within the last five
(5) years as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Holding a current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board certification or being eligible for
certification prior to starting.
• Successful prior teaching experience. Other experiences that could be associated with the delivery
of instruction and supervision of students will be considered.
