Description

If you are a detail-oriented person who enjoys helping new employees in the hiring and onboarding process, Goodwill of the Heartland is seeking an HR Coordinator for our HR team in Cedar Rapids. Six months of experience in an office or administrative position is required for this role. 
 
The HR Coordinator for Goodwill helps to support the administrative aspects of onboarding, document management, compliance, and reporting. This role helps to ensure that all tasks for new hires starting their employment with Goodwill are completed in an accurate and timely manner. This includes helping with record keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. 
 
The HR Coordinator supports the administrative aspects of recruiting, onboarding, document management, compliance, and reporting, as part of the Goodwill of the Heartland HR team at Headquarters in Cedar Rapids. Primary responsibilities are ensuring the accurate and timely completion for all tasks related to new hires starting employment at Goodwill of the Heartland, as well as record keeping, file maintenance, serving as back up for applicant screening when needed, and HRIS entry in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Administer employee documents in the HR information system and digital filing system, ensuring all documents are fully completed, and then are saved with the proper naming convention and prepared for periodic external audits.
  • Serve as the primary contact for daily onboarding flow and operations. This includes troubleshooting candidate technology challenges with offer letters, background checks, and pre-hire documentation, and updating supervisors as needed, ensuring team members are prepared and ready for first day’s success.
  • Track required vehicle insurance information and due dates in HRIS System, follow up with team members when delayed, and review uploaded documents for accuracy.
  • Ensure all orientation and onboarding documents are completed in a timely manner within the HRIS system. 
  • Work as backup for recruiting needs and calls to the Lead Talent Acquisition Interviewer including resume review, phone screens, and scheduling interviews for hiring managers.
  • Support the administrative aspects of the recruitment processes such as feedback form completion and requisition dispositions.
  • Support new hire and first day processes such as data entry, I-9 completion, creating photo and door badges, and supporting Marketing to celebrate new hires. Process new hires into HRIS system.
  • Support the HR administrative services needs for managing the shared email inbox, assisting completing projects, incoming faxes, and employment verification.

Qualifications


Qualifications

  • Six months' experience working in an office setting or with responsibilities for administrative tasks required. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel, as well as the Microsoft Office 365 platform.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with candidates and employees via email, phone calls, and face to face.
  • Successful completion of adult/child abuse, criminal history, and motor vehicle background checks 
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance required 

The HR Coordinator has a starting wage of $18.63 an hour. The schedule will typically be Monday – Friday, 8am – 4:30pm. This role allows some flexibility for remote work, with the opportunity to work from home 1-2 days a week.
