Genesis Capital (the “Company”) is one of the largest business purpose lenders in the country, focused on providing commercial real estate financing solutions to real estate developers who buy, renovate, and sell single-family and/or multi-family residential real estate. The Company is a subsidiary of Rithm Capital (parent company), a publicly traded mortgage real estate investment trust.

Responsibilities include collecting and reviewing construction specific documents and third-party reports to evaluate and measure potential risk and feasibility of construction projects.

Principal Duties:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reviews and summarizes construction reports including but not limited to appraisals, geotechnical reports, architectural, structural, civil plans, city approval conditions and any other relevant construction documents from third-party vendors.
  • Manages construction data and relevant information in Genesis Capital’s System of Record.
  • Ensure Glass metrics and loan structure are correct for Sponsor and Scope. Tracks and supports loan progression with up- to- date notes on outstanding items and underwriting conditions.
  • Ensure project scope fits within sponsor approval.
  • Ensure budget and costs are correct for project scope and location.
  • Tracks and supports loan progression with up- to- date notes on outstanding items and underwriting conditions.
  • Determines specific risks and potential mitigants by critically analyzing borrower’s construction operations team, experience, and potential project risks.
  • Actively participates in internal meetings and discussions to resolve open construction needs.
  • Onsite visits for construction analysis.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (strongly preferred) in Construction Management, Architecture, Estimation, Surveying, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience or job training may be substituted for formal education.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in real estate construction, architecture, or engineering; real estate construction lending experience.
  • Strong understanding of the construction processes; single-family or multifamily experience is a plus.
  • Proactive, initiative-taker with high level of attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office; Advanced Excel skills a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation Range: $70,000 - $90,000/year
