Job Summary
Supports technical projects from initiation through implementation including phases such as planning, analysis, design development and implementation. Technical disciplines for project range include client server, mainframe, telecommunications, data warehousing, process re-engineering, and product installations. Works with the technology Program Management team to establish project requirements, priorities and deadlines. Prepares and presents progress reports for management.
Essential Functions
1. Leads, directs, and manages Technical Program operations; recruits, selects, orients, trains, coaches, counsels, and disciplines staff. Plans, monitors, appraises, and reviews staff job contributions
2. Provides technical expertise for resource assignment, TCO analysis, project management best practices coaching, and performance management.
3. Assists the PMO team in regular project reviews and technical troubleshooting project issues.
4. Coordinates with various DCPS departments to provide technical support for project management of infrastructure projects for technology programs and projects.
5. Assists in development of detail level project schedules using standard tools including but not limited Microsoft Project to capture tasks, resources, and scope of projects.
6. Develops project forecasts aligned with District standards and policies.
7. Provides technical expertise for IT projects to control scope of projects.
8. Participates in all development document reviews.
9. Works with the PMO team to develop detail project schedules and track project deliverables.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent supervisory and/or management work experience.
Experience: Five (5) years of progressive, responsible experience in team and personnel management and management of projects, efforts, and initiatives in a technical environment. Knowledge of K12 educational business systems preferred.
Certifications & Licenses: Relevant Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) certification preferred.
