The Lourie Center Head Start, Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As a Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist you will:
• Develop plans in collaboration with educators to promote therapeutic classroom environment
• Collaborate with interdepartmental units (i.e. early intervention, EAP, education, family services)
• Hold reflective practice groups for educators, family support workers, home visitors
• Collaborate with interdepartmental units (i.e. early intervention, EAP, education, family services)
• Provide referrals and resources to community mental health services and providers
• Conduct clinical assessments of children
• Develop and implement policies specific to program best practices as related to early childhood mental health
• Ensure documentation is regularly entered into the data management system
• Submit monthly reports as required for Continuous Quality Improvement and stakeholder reporting

Qualifications include:
• Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social services, public health, guidance, or a related field;
• At least one year of specific knowledge, training, or experience in assessment and treatment of caregiver/child attachment issues. At least one year of experience in developing and presenting train,
• One year of experience practicing System of Care principles – family driven, youth guided, individualized and community based, culturally & linguistically competent & evidence-based
• Employees must possess a valid driver's license issued by the State of their residence (Personal vehicle required)

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday

Requirement to travel to various locations within Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties.

Occasional evenings and weekends.

Pay Range:

$55,982.75 - $81,182.40

If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.

Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as:

United States of America (Exempt)

Those testing positive are given the opportunity to re-apply in 90 days, if they can truthfully attest that they have not used any nicotine products in the past ninety (90) days and successfully pass follow-up testing.
