About the Department
Under general supervision, provides administrative, data collection and evaluation components relating to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Fiscal Funding and Operations.
Position Duties
- Maintains and collects data associated with Requisitions and Purchase Orders
- Develops and maintains databases and/or systems to record, track, and evaluate statistical information
- Maintains all files and reports for Asset Forfeiture (State & Federal), LEOSE, Capital Improvement, Grants, Donations
- Reviews information from Bexar County Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP): LAWSON. Downloads information for data conversion, creates AD Hoc reports, Fiscal Reports
- Prepares, creates, reviews reports, presentations, and/or correspondences
- Processes, audits, and tracks revenue checks for utility rebates and/or similar allowances
- Assists in the design, formatting, and preparation of any statistical data collection (Metrics: Workload, Efficiency, and Effectiveness)
- Provides analysis of trends/data and provide recommendations to executives and other leaders for follow-up and action
- Provides cross functional/administrative team support and may assist with acquisition and procurement
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from High School or a General Education development (GED) certificate, and five (5) years of experience in an office environment dealing with databases; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of basic office practices and procedures. Knowledge of English spelling, grammar and punctuation; and good knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet (MS Excel), databases (MS. Access) and presentation (MS PowerPoint) software. Use of email (MS Outlook)
- Skill in operating a personal computer, typewriter and basic office equipment
- Skill to type 45wpm with no more than 7 errors; Requires recent typing test administered by hired date (Typing tests may be administered by Department, Human Resources or Workforce Solutions Alamo Career Centers)
- Ability to collect and analyze information; develop statistical analyses and reports; ability to organize, compile and record statistical data accurately; operate personal computer and basic office equipment; manage time effectively; perform basic mathematical calculations; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to work independently and as part of a team; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees and the public
- Must be able and willing to attend training at department’s discretion
- Must possess and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license
- Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
- Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test
- When required, shall work extra hours, holidays, evenings, weekends and other shifts
- May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek
Working Environment and Physical Demands:
- Working conditions are primarily inside an office/school environment
- Occasionally moves items weighing up to 10 pounds
- Occasionally moves about the office
- Frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery

- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
