When you join Design Group as a Software Engineer, you are joining a team that will challenge you and position you for growth. In this role, you will work with a team of industry experts to help the world’s leading companies solve their most difficult problems. You will join our Control System Integration Practice and partner with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to deliver the highest quality solutions to our clients with consistency and accuracy.

What You’ll Do

You'll work individually and in teams to support capital projects and implement solutions for our clients. Together, you will help our clients make critical changes to improve their performance and realize their most important goals.

  • Develop Ignition and Sepasoft applications, including databases, database interfaces, data handling & reporting, scripting (Python), and REST API development, with a primary focus on OEE applications.

  • Create, configure, and maintain OEE systems using Ignition software, including scripting and integration with diverse data sources and PLCs.

  • Utilize Ignition Perspective to craft intuitive dashboards, reports, and analytics tools for real-time monitoring of OEE metrics and KPIs, providing valuable insights to clients.

  • Design and implement robust data acquisition strategies to capture real-time data from machinery, sensors, and production lines, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Effectively manage multiple system development projects simultaneously, adhering to project timelines and budgets, and delivering high-quality solutions that drive operational excellence and align with client goals.

  • Thoroughly understand project requirements to create tailored applications suitable for the nuanced changes of individual manufacturing environments.

  • Engage with client stakeholders to comprehend scopes of work, deliverables, and project expectations, maintaining clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Collaborate independently or within a team of engineers, including participation in large-scale projects spanning various engineering disciplines, with the ability to guide and mentor others.

  • Lead or assist in onsite system startup, ensuring seamless integration and functionality of designed systems.

What You’ll Bring

  • 4+ years of system integration, SCADA, and industrial software development experience, demonstrating successful implementations in manufacturing environments.

  • A deep understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and operational workflows, aligned with best practices for designing and developing OEE solutions.

  • Proficiency in Ignition Perspective development is mandatory, and experience with the Sepasoft MES platform is highly beneficial.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing back-end computing infrastructure, encompassing hardware, virtualization, operating systems, networking, and databases, is advantageous.

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel for project-related activities, including installations, startup procedures, client meetings, training sessions, and industry events.

  • Bachelor of Science – Electrical Engineering or Computer Science/Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
