Position Title: Supervisor Maintenance

Scope & Responsibilities of Supervisor Maintenance: (Not limited to)
- Assist maintenance planner(s) with preparation, scheduling, assigning, and evaluating completed Millwright/Diesel Mechanic/Forklift work to maintain a responsible accurate backlog.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in troubleshooting problems to keep the refinery operating continuously and safely.
- Communicates project activities &/or events to provide coordination with other maintenance or process areas as required.
- Assumes responsibility for all Millwright, Diesel Mechanic, Forklift mechanic shop equipment, parts inventory, tools and safety equipment; maintains appropriate inspection records and documentation.
- Conducts regular safety meetings with assigned team members and ensures departmental compliance with ARG’s environmental, safety and health policies or procedures.
- Develop, evaluate, and update written procedures for assigned areas.
- Provides daily direction to team members; monitors and approves employee time-keeping records.
- Performs QA/QC inspections of departmental work on a regular basis and corrects deviations.
- Collaborates with engineering, reliability, process personnel and outside contractors in the installation, maintenance, and repair of rotating and diesel equipment.
- Responsible for daily monitoring of Millwright and Diesel Mechanic activities (including continuous improvement of work methods, equipment, and facilities) and reporting performance to management.
- Strives to ensure ongoing development of team members through coaching and regular performance feedback.
- Communicates measures of performance and recommends performance ratings.
- Assess candidates and provide recommendations to support the hiring process.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by Supervisor/Management.

Education & Experience for Supervisor Maintenance:
Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance – Millwright Technology welding or related field from an accredited two-year college or technical school with a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Ten or more (10+) years of experience with the installation, maintenance and repair of industrial rotating equipment including compressors, pumps and turbines is required.
Experience managing teams of ten or more employees is desirable.
High degree of knowledge in all refinery operations, including maintenance areas, is preferred.
Proficient in general business technologies (ie: phone, fax, scanners, and computers) including Microsoft Office Suite of applications as well as other applicable software.
Must possess and retain a valid motor vehicle driver’s license.
Other Qualifications of Supervisor Maintenance:
- High level proficiency in and knowledge of rigging, precision leveling, laser alignment, troubleshooting and repair practices, processes, and procedures for rotating and diesel equipment.
- Ability to work independently or as a valuable team member to accomplish tasks and complete projects on time and in-budget.
- Provide leadership to direct the work of colleagues and show effective communication style with the ability to convey written and oral instructions.
- Able to successfully prioritize and handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities that generate timely and cost-effective
solutions. - Effectively evaluates the various skillset within the team and recommends training and development opportunities to enhance.
- Exhibit servant leadership by collaborating and partnering with internal and external stakeholders
- Required to successfully complete continuing education courses as required to satisfactorily perform the duties of this position.
- Occasional travel may be necessary.
Physical & Cognitive Demands of Supervisor Maintenance:
COGNITIVE DEMANDS: includes the ability to meet deadlines, focus attention, work independently or within a team, perform repetitive tasks, assess spatial relations, communicate effectively, read, and comprehend, interpret information, organize, think critically, and troubleshoot.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: seeing, speaking, hearing, smelling, kneeling, stooping, sitting, walk/climb/crawl, stand/reach, listen, writing, physical coordination, driving, climbing, twisting/bending, depth perception, assembling parts, keyboarding, push/pull/lift/carry or otherwise transport 50 pounds.
Must be capable of climbing and working in elevated locations or confined spaces in all weather conditions.
Work in various indoor and outdoor environments in extreme heat or cold with exposure to hazardous materials.
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and moderate noise levels.
Able to wear Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) and use all types of respiratory equipment including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). May be required to work overtime, holidays, weekends, scheduled time off &/or shift work as required to support plant operations.
