Position Duties
What You’ll Do
Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of floors and stairways in entryways, hallways, offices, and outdoor walkways. Duties include sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, buffing, spot cleaning, shampooing carpets, and stripping and waxing floors. Assist with pressure washing as needed.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including walls, doors, fixtures, lockers, toilets, urinals, showers, floors, sinks, and mirrors. Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and hand sanitizer.
Clean and disinfect a variety of surfaces in elevators, kitchens, break rooms, offices, and hallways — including doors, windows, sills, vents, and other high-touch areas.
Dust and clean furniture, tabletops, chairs, and office equipment such as computers, desks, blinds, and cubicles.
Empty trash receptacles, clean trash cans, and ensure proper disposal of waste.
Set up and arrange furniture and equipment for meetings, trainings, and special events.
Maintain the exterior appearance of the facility by blowing off sidewalks, patios, doorways, and drains.
Monitor, stock, and deliver cleaning and maintenance supplies; notify supervisor of restocking or repair needs.
Maintain cleaning equipment and tools in a safe, clean, and operable condition.
Assist during emergencies, special events, and disaster situations as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental operations.
**The employees are subject to working in both inside and outside environments and exposure to various hazards such as chemicals and human body fluids, and thus are subject to OSHA requirements on bloodborne pathogens. As well as being called back in after hours and reporting for inclement weather.**
Minimum Qualifications
Formal Education
- Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions, understand simple processes, and operate machines routinely. The level of knowledge is equivalent to less than high school or equivalency.
- One year of relevant experience. Relevant professional experience may include examples such as:
- Professional janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping work in settings like schools, offices, hospitals, or public buildings
- Experience using floor care equipment such as buffers or carpet cleaners
- Valid Class C Driver’s License

Other Qualifications
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Exerting 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
WORKING CONDITIONS: This position has a varied work location. Physical demands include continuous standing, walking, pushing/pulling, bending and frequently performs lifting/carrying, reaching/handling, kneeling/crouching, twisting, balancing and talking.
