Thatcher Company is seeking an ambitious and strategic Agriculture Industry Development Manager to lead the expansion of our Agriculture business across the United States. This individual will play a key role in shaping our agricultural sales strategy and driving sustainable growth. Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a growth strategy focused on financial performance, customer satisfaction, and market penetration.
- Conduct research to identify emerging markets, customer needs, and new business opportunities.
- Lead business meetings with prospective clients and coordinate strategy for industry-specific conferences and trade events.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with both new and existing customers.
- Coach and develop the sales team to enhance their technical expertise and ability to drive results across regions.
- Analyze customer requirements and strategic plans to identify opportunities for alignment with Thatcher’s products and capabilities.
- Leverage technical knowledge to articulate and document Thatcher’s value proposition to customers.
- Ensure compliance with company policies related to Safety, HAZMAT, Product Stewardship, and shipping of analytical samples.
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of agrochemical requirements by crop, particularly within the Western U.S.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or Agriculture).
- Advanced technical degree preferred.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior management, cross-functional teams, and customers.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; strong mechanical aptitude and laboratory understanding.
- Self-motivated, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities.
- Working knowledge of customer service standards, marketing principles, and market analysis techniques.
- Ability to monitor and track competitive products, applications, and market trends.
