Position Overview
As a Development Associate, you are a key member of our Cabot Citrus Farms team and will be instrumental in building on Cabot’s legacy of world-leading golf destinations. You will report directly to the Cabot Citrus Farms Director of Development. This exciting fast-paced role will appeal to your exceptional work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit, and passion for variety. You will support the planning, design, development, and construction of Cabot’s transformational development. You are a dynamic problem solver, innovator, and leader interested in taking on tasks outside of key responsibilities. Your flexible and collaborative working style is a great fit for Cabot’s culture and will allow you to use your knowledge & experience to support development for Cabot Citrus Farms.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in and expand upon financial models to track and maintain development budgets and pro formas.
- Champion budget reporting through Ingenious software At Cabot Citrus Farms, and support other Cabot properties globally in doing so.
- Collaborate with development teams members to ensure excellent project management.
- Assist with thorough due diligence, including feasibility studies, environmental assessments, and zoning analyses to ensure compliance with local regulations and project objectives.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring proper project cost accounting, and employing cost-effective strategies.
- Support in the implementation of rigorous cost control measures to optimize resource allocation and ensure return on investment targets are achieved.
- With support from outside counsel, prepare and negotiate agreements associated with all aspects of development and construction.
- Coordinate with Development and Construction team to improve document management processes.
- Support in the preparation of memoranda material including, but not limited to, business plans, strategies, and development updates.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of relevant construction or development experience.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Real Estate Development, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Financial acumen and budget management expertise.
- Exceptional project management and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with the latest technologies and trends in development and luxury resort design.
Working Conditions
- A significant portion of the role involves administrative tasks like donor research, creating fundraising campaigns, writing proposals, and managing donor databases.
- Office settings are typically on-site at the golf course, though remote work may be an option for specific tasks.
- Development Associates frequently work outdoors during fundraising events, tournaments, and community engagement activities.
- They interact with members, sponsors, and donors at events, often requiring mobility and a high level of customer service.
- The role may involve traveling to meet potential donors, sponsors, or community partners.
- Public speaking and networking at events or meetings may also be part of the job.
