Job Summary:

The Inventory Control Clerk will accurately perform daily cycle counts, complete counts for parts believed to have errors, and assist the Distribution / Inventory Control Supervisor in root cause analyses and corrective action implementation.

 Responsibilities:

  • Assures compliance to all required industry standards and government requirements as stated in the Ideal-Tridon Quality Manual, Quality Management System, process documentation, and all Company Human Resources, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • While operating a forklift, the operator has the responsibility and authority to remove the equipment from service following EHS-20-0042.   Notification will be made to the Maintenance Department.
  • Responsibility and authority to shut down machine operation when quality, safety, or environmental issues arise.  The operator will notify the supervisor, lead, or other appropriate manager.
  • Has the responsibility and authority to ship the correct product to customers, and to stop shipments that are not the intended product for that customer. 
  • Maintains and protects all company, supplier, and customer proprietary and confidential information.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains accurate inventory records using inventory management software or database systems.
  • Monitors inventory levels and tracks inventory movements, including receipts, transfers, and withdrawals.
  • Conducts regular physical inventory counts and reconciles discrepancies between physical counts and system records.
  • Analyzes inventory data to identify trends, variances, and potential issues, and report findings to management.
  • Coordinates with purchasing and receiving departments to ensure timely and accurate receipt of incoming inventory.
  • Generates inventory reports, including stock status, usage, and aging reports, to support decision-making and planning.
  • Assists in developing and implementing inventory control policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize inventory management processes.
  • Performs cycle counts and spot checks to ensure inventory accuracy and integrity.
  • Coordinates with production and warehouse teams to prioritize inventory tasks and ensure efficient flow of materials.
  • Communicates with suppliers and vendors regarding inventory issues, returns, and replenishment orders.
  • Provides training and support to other team members on inventory control processes and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in recording and tracking inventory data.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of inventory control principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to adjust to changing inventory needs and priorities.
  • Aptitude to use small hand tools, RF scan guns, and stand up forklift equipment.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education and experience required.
  • Previous stand-up forklift experience required.
  • Minimum one year experience in Cycle Count or Inventory Control Related Experience required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and/or sitting and reaching with hands and arms.
  • May occasionally climb stairs, drive vehicles, and operate equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
