****Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University of Hawai’i may apply for Casual Hire appointments, which include administrative, professional, and technical (APT) or instructional-type positions. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES   ( *denotes essential functions):

  • Assist Manoa campus wide media support unit in the areas of troubleshooting and providing classroom instructional technology support, special events, media loan pool and scanning services.

  • Provide operational support of the University’s video operations center that oversees cable broadcast distance learning programs and supports videoconference delivered over various instructional technologies.

  • Assist with the ITS classroom conferencing, video production services group that includes but is not limited to pre-production, acquisition and recording of footage, editing and other aspects of the video production process.

  • Other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Communications, Educational Technology or related field.

  2. Experience with responsibilities for multimedia video productions, instructional technology in an education institution or equivalent education/training or experience.

  3. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.

  4. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.

  5. Demonstrated ability to speak, read, comprehend, interpret, and write fluently in English.

  6. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.


DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Knowledge of the theories, principles and practices of work in videoconferencing, web-conferencing, web streaming technologies, video telecommunications and multimedia development.

  2. Knowledge of methods, materials, practices, techniques and equipment used in instructional technology as it relates to multimedia presentations over distance learning technologies.

  3. Knowledge of technology and techniques used in electronic instruction, video production, multimedia presentations and distance learning.

  4. Knowledge of word processing, design, audio visual software programs and systems,

  5. Knowledge of Google suite of applications used in education.

  6. Ability to operate and instruct others on the operations of equipment used in multimedia.
