Why Now

2024 has been an exciting year for Doppler. After raising our $20M Series A from CRV in 2022, we have now helped over 41,000 startups and enterprises manage their secrets at scale. After building the community, it is time to scale and monetize. Throughout this year, we’re getting far more ambitious by setting even higher product, growth, sales, and hiring goals!

About Doppler

Doppler's mission is to make it easy and secure for developers of every experience level and teams of any size to manage their app configuration and secrets. But hasn't this been done?

Developers tend to be either struggling with the manual management of .env files, or wrestling with an overly complex secrets manager that's not built for software development. Doppler is changing that by making app configuration and secrets management easy, intuitive, and scalable. It's the SecretOps platform built by developers for developers.

Our team is entrepreneurial, with a bias for action. We never back down from a spirited debate and believe we are all responsible for exploring the hard questions. We value self-awareness and meaningful impact. We are open to unconventional approaches and have learned not to judge a book by its cover. Your time is your most valuable resource, so you set your hours. We use Slack to communicate and default to zero meetings. We aim to document everything. We also recommend you invest your time in 10% compounding time.

Who We Are

Doppler is a SecretOps platform that enables developers and security teams to keep their secrets secure and in sync wherever they run their code. SecretOps is the set of security philosophies, frameworks, and tools used to operationalize secrets at scale.

The Role

There are over 41,000 companies using Doppler as their secrets management solution. Growth continues due to a combination of our freemium strategy and being a product that developers love to use. Product-led growth has been a vital component of our success, and we’re looking for our next product manager to drive the next level of impact in self-service ARR.

In this role, you will own growth in activation, engagement, conversion, and monetization of our self-service users and be a cross-functional stakeholder for our enterprise sales team.

We are committed to being the secrets manager that engineering teams and security teams love to use because we build with developers in mind.

About the Team

You’ll directly be part of the Go To Market team that encompasses Product Growth, Marketing, and DevRel. We’re a team that genuinely understands and cares about our users, putting their privacy first, even when it makes things harder for us. We collaborate with as little ego as humanly possible and are constantly trying to improve how we work and deliver results.

What you’ll do:

  • Fully understand our ideal customer profile to optimize their experience and connect it to business goals
  • Collaborate with users and cross-functional stakeholders to drive high-impact growth initiatives that propel revenue forward and company KPIs
  • Build and expand growth loops to move activation, engagement, conversion, and monetization forward
  • Strategize and develop a growth roadmap for self-serve users (free & paid) in our ideal profile that compliments the efforts of the larger Go To Market team in partnership with the larger product team stakeholders
  • Drive a culture of experimentation and data-led insights to prioritize product initiatives and understand what works
  • Elaborate on core product growth data tracking, evangelizing the wins while sharing learnings from the losses
  • Partner and collaborate with design, engineering, and core product to deliver high-value experiences that lead to desired outcomes
  • Build hypotheses based on learning, becoming a subject matter expert
  • Across different channels (sales, marketing, support, email, docs, etc.), implement ways to successfully address awareness gaps and friction points

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a Growth PM role
  • Experience in B2B SaaS, preferably in the dev tool space with a freemium subscription model context
  • Proven track record delivering tangible business outcomes
  • Interest in the intersection of security and developer experience
  • Communicate proactively and clearly, and would enjoy working in highly cross-functional, distributed growth teams
  • Experience using analytics tools for new data insights and validating the effectiveness of launched initiatives
  • Have no problem saying “I don’t know”

Preferred experience:

  • Proficiency in analytics tools (Posthog, SQL)
  • Experience working at a fully remote company

  • Equity at an early-stage, fast-growing startup
  • Premium health insurance (medical, dental, vision)
  • Guilt Free Unlimited PTO - 3-week minimum strongly encouraged!
  • Free lunch every day
  • Upward Mobility
  • Learning and Development Stipend
  • Wealth Advisor
  • 401k
  • Pregnancy & Family Leave
  • Fertility & Adoption Benefits
  • Equal Compensation (regardless of gender or race)

For a full list of our benefits check our Perks Notion Page.

We've built a great product our customers love. Our churn is low, and active usage continues to rise. We just need to amplify our reach to educate the market that secrets management can be fast, secure, and affordable for teams and organizations of any size. And most importantly, we need to continue encouraging Developers to stop adhering to archaic insecure standards such as manually managing .env file formats.

Are you passionate about developer-focused products and ready to join an amazing team? Then we want to hear from you!

A final note - we highly encourage you to apply for this role, even if you don't feel entirely qualified or entirely sure. You never know!
