The Position
At Roche/Genentech Pharma Product Development Global Clinical Operations (PDG), we are determined to transform drug development and realize our Pharma Ambition to deliver 20 transformative medicines addressing diseases with the highest societal burden by 2029. We are looking for a Global Head, Enterprise Clinical Sourcing and Partnerships, who will be accountable for the management, performance, delivery and oversight of end-to-end, enterprise wide, clinical service providers across Roche Global Product Development (including Clinical Operations and Medical Affairs), Pharma Research and Early Development, Genentech Research and Early Development and US Medical Affairs
The Opportunity
In this position, you will be accountable for developing and maintaining a fully comprehensive, integrated, and sustainable enterprise-wide, end-to-end approach to oversee clinical service provider services, performance, and delivery, critical to executing Roche clinical studies. This role encompasses several key responsibilities:
Implementing and leading a global, centralized organization that provides enterprise-wide clinical sourcing and partnership management, and informed decisions to the business on sourcing strategies and service provider selection. Establishing a simplified framework with defined and clear accountability and decision-making authority to enhance business efficiencies, facilitate strategic decisions for Roche, and ensure clear ownership in managing risks and issues.
Leading, through direct and indirect reporting lines, the Global Clinical Sourcing and Partnerships organisation (a global team of partnership leads and experts across key suppliers) dedicated to creating strategic and innovative partnerships to drive delivery of the Roche portfolio at a global and country level.
Partnering with Clinical Service Providers i.e CROs, Central Labs and other key suppliers to develop and implement industry leading, best in class delivery models that will be consistently utilized across the Roche organization. Partner across Roche functions i.e, Clinical Operations, Global Procurement, Clinical Science in establishing clinical partnerships and sourcing strategies which meet the needs of the business, including the One Pharma strategy, and drive innovations to accelerate delivery of the Roche portfolio. Furthermore, partner across Roche to identify new clinical suppliers by identifying business needs with functional input
Effectively working across the Roche organisation including more than 20+ countries in a highly matrixed manner to ensure a cohesive clinical operations delivery model and decision-making.
Incorporating the needs of the business from early through late development and global, regional and country input when developing sourcing and partnership strategies to ensure that global and local voices and perspectives are adequately represented and addressed.

Who you are
15+ years pharmaceutical clinical operations experience ideally with differentiated global experience across clinical operations, portfolio enabling work (systems, processes). People Leadership experience is required and other drug development strategic leadership experience is considered an asset.
Comprehensive understanding of global Pharma drug development including early and late development
Organisational leader able to articulate and deliver a clear strategy and vision for the future of Clinical Sourcing and Partnerships at Roche; Extensive knowledge of internal and external landscape to support service provider selection and delivery; Broad scientific, operational and technical expertise to fully understand sourcing and development needs for the Roche portfolio
Enterprise mindset and ability to work across multiple stakeholder groups at Roche; Demonstrates strong communication and collaboration skills and quickly builds relationships and trust with stakeholders
Demonstrated success using analytics and data-driven decision-making in strategy development and execution
Fluency in verbal and written English. Other language skills may be an asset ; Frequent national or international travel will be required at times. The amount may vary with the role, location and business needs.
This position can be located in Mississauga, Canada, Welwyn, UK, South San Francisco, United States or Basel, Switzerland. Expectation of ongoing and sustained campus presence at the site in compliance with local requirements.
