The Regional Sales Director is a critical leadership role responsible for driving sales performance across multiple regions, implementing strategic initiatives, and managing several sales teams. The Regional Sales Director will work closely with the Director of Sales, EMEA, to align regional strategies with broader company goals, ensuring sustained growth and market expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve both regional and company-wide objectives.
- Assist the Director of Sales, EMEA, with staff development and regional expansion initiatives.
- Shape regional strategies and influence overall company goals.
- Achieve at least 6% month-over-month sales growth for each region.
- Ensure continuous growth in median monthly sales per salesperson.
- Oversee multiple regional sales managers, ensuring teams meet performance and growth targets.
- Provide coaching and support to regional team leads, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Tailor strategies to meet the specific needs of different regions.
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify growth opportunities.
- Advise senior leadership on market trends and strategic shifts.
- Develop strategies to enhance market share.
- Present quarterly market analysis reports, identifying new opportunities and risks.
- Develop and implement at least one new market entry strategy annually.
- Collaborate with marketing, HR, finance, and operations to ensure regional activities align with overall company goals.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments to optimize regional performance.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Lead at least two major cross-functional projects per year (e.g., support and training of cross-departmental colleagues).
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics and KPIs, providing regular reports to the Director of Sales, EMEA.
- Use data analytics to drive strategic decisions and improve regional performance.
- Adjust strategies based on performance data and market feedback.
- Achieve a median bookings per salesperson (SP) of 120k.
- Ensure at least 90% of the sales team meets or exceeds individual targets.
- Implement training and development programs for regional team leads.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Focus on mentoring and developing regional team leads, including succession planning.
- Facilitate at least two leadership development workshops annually.
- Establish clear career progression plans for all regions.
- Create and maintain a positive working culture, measured through ENPS or other means.
- Lead change management initiatives to drive regional growth and organizational development.
- Ensure successful implementation of new processes and systems across regions.
- Foster a culture of innovation and identify areas for operational enhancement.
- Drive continuous improvement in regional operations.
- Manage relationships with key external stakeholders, including major clients and partners.
- Demonstrate strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Ensure alignment of external stakeholders with the company's goals and regional strategies.
Cross-Cultural Experience
- Proven experience working in diverse, cross-cultural environments.
- Ability to adapt strategies to regional cultural nuances.
- Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets within a B2B environment.
- Experience managing multiple regions and driving consistent revenue growth.
- Proven experience in coaching and developing high-performing sales teams.
- Focus on leadership development, team performance, and succession planning.
- Strong proficiency in data analytics tools for optimizing sales strategies.
- Experience monitoring KPIs and using performance data for strategic decisions.
- Excellent presentation skills (in-person and virtual) for influencing senior leadership and external partners.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to manage relationships with key clients and partners, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and regional strategies.
