About The Role

The role requires a Web Development Manager with nine years of experience to support the organization’s mission. This position will be part of the Digital Transformation team and will collaborate with other teams to oversee the development of high-quality websites, work closely with designers, and implement best practices to ensure optimal website performance and user experience. The individual will also provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, as well as contribute to the planning and execution of web development projects.

Responsibilities

- Write well-designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices.

- Manage clients and projects to accomplish goals.

- Oversee the work quality of more junior web development staff.

- Understand UX/UI best practices and 508 accessibility.

- Integrate data from various back-end services and databases.

- Maintain, expand, and scale websites.

- Create and maintain software documentation.

- Perform other duties, as assigned.

- Optimize websites using industry best practices for both functionality and search engine results.

- Stay updated on emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them in operations and activities.

- Troubleshoot various issues including script and plugin errors, media integration, and website usability.

- Utilize a variety of internet technologies, techniques, scripting, object-oriented languages, and databases (e.g. HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL) to create web page elements such as user interface features, site animation, web apps, special effects, databases, and e-business applications.

Minimum Education and Experience

- High School Diploma

- 9 years of relevant experience

Basic Requirements

- Expert WordPress and Drupal knowledge and other Content Management Systems.

- Excellent documentation skills, including requirements gathering.

- Top-notch programming skills and in-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSS.

- Knowledge of multiple programming languages such as Javascript and Python.

- Experience with jQuery and other web development libraries and frameworks.

- Basic understanding of Search Engine Optimization processes.

- Strong problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills.

- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks within set timelines.

- Experience with GovCon web management and 508 accessibility.

- Highly organized, efficient, and extremely detail-oriented.

- Strong oral and written communication skills, including professional emails.

- Ability to productively and collaboratively work in SharePoint.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, learn quickly, and master diverse web technologies.

Skills That Set You Apart

- Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining APIs.

- Experience advising on the incorporation of AI tools into websites for chatbots and other applications.
