We are seeking a skilled Cloud Database Admin Specialist to join our dynamic digital data platform team and help us manage and optimize our cloud-based database systems for operations and analytics.   • Design, implement, and manage cloud-based database solutions using AWS technologies.
  • Monitor and maintain database performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Perform database tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting to resolve performance issues.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions and drive product innovation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in development processes, code quality, performance optimization, and software architecture.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in the data and analytics space , evaluate new technologies /tools, and make informed recommendations for adoption.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, creativity, and excellence within the data platform team, fostering collaboration and a positive work environment.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on data and analytics topics, provide technical guidance to stakeholders, and contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing efforts.
Professional Qualifications
  • Strong preference for work on technology transition from on premise Oracle to cloud based data platforms on AWS
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services such as RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora, and Redshift.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services and best practices for cloud database management.
  • Strong proficiency in standing up and running data and analytics tools such as Celebrus , Quantum Metrics, Tealium, etc.
  • Implement and manage database security measures, including encryption and access controls.
  • Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies for cloud databases.
  • Familiarity with data modeling principles, design guidelines, and design techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and leverage new technologies , tools, and techniques to solve complex technical challenges and improve development processes.
  • Experience with performance optimization, memory management, and debugging tools to ensure smooth and efficient operation .
  • Automate routine database tasks using AWS tools and scripting languages.
  • Experience developing engineering applications for a large corporatio n.
  • Provide support for database-related issues and incidents, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures
  • Preferred degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar relevant field preferred
  • Deep understanding and commitment to software engineering principles and processes (e.g., Lean, Agile, DevOps) and continuous improvement through measurement.

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $131,290.00 - $220,600.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay.
