Afrikindness is looking to increase its global reach through compelling content. We are looking for an experienced graphic designer with a passion for children/ young adults and a proactive approach to work.What difference will you make?We are looking for a graphic designer with experience in producing quality compelling, creative content focusing on graphics, illustrations, and layout that will help us engage our audiences and that reflects the journey and history of community projects that we do, thereby bringing that needed awareness of the benefit of emotional intelligence, community engagement, and kindness in children. As a volunteer graphic artist with Afrikindness, you will help to create the image of Afrikindness seen and understood by the community we serve. Your work will help people find the community projects and groups that will suit them. It will help the community to understand our mission. Through your work, you will be contributing to the work we do, bringing awareness to the mental health issues children face, the lack of empathy, issues with bullying, hatred, racism, and the effect on children, especially of black heritage and what Afrikindness is doing to tackle those issues. Your input will shape how we present ourselves to the children, stakeholders, funders, and the general public. With your help, we will be able to continue to inspire as many children to show kindness, you will also tell our story, and projects in a compelling visual image that spread the words and amplify the work done.What are we looking for?We are looking for people willing to bring energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to the role, and who will broaden the diversity of thinking on our board. We are looking for someone who is passionate about children and young adults, who is keen on Africa, and looking at making a difference in the educational sector. We are looking for people who will join the team and progress to an Executive position. Key skills A well-executed portfolio demonstrating excellent design principles in layout and typography, a variety of print and digital work. Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages particularly PowerPoint Highly organized, creative, and detail-oriented. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, AfterEffects). Proficiency in any - 3D design, communication design, film and television, fine art, graphic design, illustration, photography, and visual art would be an added advantage. Organized with the ability to prioritize and report on the progress of multiple ongoing projects. Team player with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships. Ability to conceptualize creative briefs, either independently or as part of a team exercise. A keen interest in the latest design trends. General A commitment to the organization. A willingness to devote the necessary time and effort. Passionate about social media trends Good, independent judgment. An ability to think creatively. A willingness to speak their mind but also open to feedback. Understands the resource constraints of a small organization and is able to work with these. Accuracy and attention to detail. An ability to work effectively as a member of a team and someone aspiring to become an Executive board member of the organization. Enthusiasm for our vision and mission. Willingness to lead according to our values.What will you be doing?Our graphic designers are part of the social media and marketing team and play a vital role in making sure that Afrikindness achieves its core purpose. This is a great opportunity to make contributions towards an effort to provide educative & informative content on Kindness, and mental health for children globally and to network with exceptionally talented people just like you. You will be working with a Media team alongside other volunteers who will help develop marketing content and will provide an overview of our existing communication and marketing materials, our content strategy, and brand guidelines. You will be joining our charity during an exciting point in our development and a period of real growth; your expert knowledge, skill, and experience will be critical to our success. You will have a key role in ensuring we can maintain the work that we do. You will be a part of our small, extremely friendly, passionate, and forward-thinking charity team. We started with one child, and since we have expanded to many children within the UK making great strides & inspiring their communities. A library of license-free stock images we can use Web-ready images for us to use on our website and social media Designing eShots and online adverts Designing and producing marketing and promotional materials Designing Press Statement Designing graphics for all related activities and projects
