Are you a motivated Junior Software Developer with exceptional communication skills, adept at multi-tasking and looking for a new position? Capita have a new opportunity for a Software Developer with experience in AWS to join us on a permanent basis.
Our Software developers are responsible for designing, testing, and implementing new and updated software programs. They will ensure all deliverables are completed on time and to the agreed specification. What you'll be doing:
- work within a software development team delivering projects using Scrum methodology
- provide 2nd/3rd line support for applications and systems
- understand the customer requirements, provide task level estimates, development, and unit testing of the work packages
- develop agreed milestones and delivers in accordance with a set of targets
- contribute ideas and improvements for the betterment of the team and processes
- ensure contribution in the daily stand-ups and other meetings wherever necessary
- maintain the development best practices and standards personally; actively participate in project tasks, following own standards
- provide the low-level documentation, known issues documentation, user guides and contribute to the knowledge repository that will benefit the peers
- build relationships with SMEs/Business teams, participate and contribute consistently to the calls/forums
- work with developers, peers, and architects to develop fresh solutions or enhancements/changes to existing applications/tools
What we're looking for
- proven IT experience in a commercial environment
- knowledge of all areas of the development lifecycle
- proven experience developing software observing good practices (Object Oriented concepts, multi-tier, Separation of concerns)
- experience of working with AWS (including but not limited to S3, CloudWatch, WAF, IAM security groups, SES, VPC, RDS, Code Pipeline, EC2, Cloud Formation)
- experience in developing Web and Windows based applications using Microsoft .NET development framework.
- knowledge on source control repository tools like Git, TFS etc.
- strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, strong database skills and have experience developing web applications which combine high level server-side and client-side programming techniques.
- expertise in application analysis, requirement analysis, Root Cause Analysis (RCA),
- Python experience
