All unsolicited resumes will be considered the property of Karsun and Karsun will not be obligated to pay a placement fee.As a Lead UI/UX Designer, you will conduct user research, analysis and synthesis, persona development, interaction design, and usability testing to create products that delight end users. You will be responsible for designing and creating product experiences for a product under the guidance of the UI/UX Lead. This role is working in the context of a product team developing a defined product. Given the size of the team, the successful candidate will need to be willing to support the teams’ goals including performing duties such as user story writing.
  • Develop user experiences in large-scale software development projects
  • Apply Human-centered design principles to create User Interface elements, journey mapping, wireframes and prototypes; ensure the overall user experience, facilitate, and enable user outcomes in an intuitive manner.
  • Perform user research, to include designing and delivering surveys, conducting user interviews, and compiling data gained from these activities.
  • Use design thinking, Agile concepts and practices, and product management principles to develop customer focused software products.
  • Use visual design/interaction design to create and implement user interfaces based on user data gathering.
  • Design web pages, graphics, multimedia, and UI Style guidelines
  • Develop wireframes and prototypes in a clean, well structured, and easily navigable format using Adobe Photoshop, Figma, Sketch, InVision, Axure, or other relevant tools and coach less experienced designers in the same
  • Plan and lead User and Product Workshops to elicit user needs and feedback on product direction
  • Conduct usability testing to measure user experiences, analyze product use in production and product outcomes to identify areas of improvements
Required:
  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and 4-8 years of relevant experience
  • 4+ years of UX design experience and a portfolio for reference
  • Experience developing user experiences in large-scale software development projects
  • Familiar with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS design capabilities
  • Fluency in responsive design, mobile/tablet UI/UX
  • Demonstrated experience as key interaction/visual designer of a UI/UX team throughout the system development cycle of successfully launched web, mobile, and/or software applications.
  • Demonstrated experience performing user research, to include designing and delivering surveys, conducting user interviews, and compiling data gained from these activities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of web standards and accessible design (508 compliance)
  • Eye for detail with strong user-centered design practices
  • Must be creative, innovative and artistic and passionate about following the latest and emerging UI/UX trends
  • Must be a team player with strong analytical skills to understand and translate business requirements to product features.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both technical and business environments.
  • Work independently and efficiently in high-paced environment.
  • Availability during the core business hours of 9-5 EST
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Preferred:
  • Experience of Jira, Confluence
  • User Experience Design Certificate(s)
  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience in Human Computer Interaction, Digital Media Design, Fine Arts or related field
  • Candidates in the easterrn, central or mountain time zones
  • Experience supporting US federal government contracts
In accordance with pay transparency guidelines, the proposed salary range for this position is $103,000 to $134,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors such as relevant skills, experience and certifications.
