Right now, we are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team, who will be responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines, databases, and data warehouses to ensure efficient and reliable data storage, processing, and accessibility.

Main responsibilities:

  • Work directly with business stakeholders to understand their analytics requirements.
  • Translate stakeholder business requirements into actionable requirements documentation.
  • Analyze our organization's data to determine how best to provide insights to our business stakeholders.
  • Identify the data transformations necessary to make our raw data usable for final, user-facing deliverables.
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional/non-functional business requirements.
  • Design complex queries necessary to develop final, user-facing deliverables.
  • Develop user-facing reports, visualizations, and dashboards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experienced in developing reports in visualization/reporting tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc. Experience with Sigma is a plus.
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL), as well as familiarity with various databases. Daily usage of SQL is expected.
  • Experience with Snowflake or other data warehousing applications.
  • Proficiency with object-oriented/object function scripting languages such as Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.
  • Understanding of the retail industry, particularly in financial planning or merchandising/inventory planning, is a plus.
  • Strong ability to perform root cause analysis on external and internal processes and data to identify errors, opportunities for improvement, and answer questions.
  • Ability to quickly learn new applications.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
