Overview

The data analyst collaborates with others in support of data analysis and reporting to maintain strategic analytic projects. The data analyst also maintains and provides data analysis, metrics and other data-related support to inform various internal stakeholders. May also provide project support for data science and visualization for organizational initiatives.

Under our CRFlex program, this position is eligible for Fully Remote status for candidates who live more than 75 miles from one of our main office locations (Yonkers, NY, Washington DC, Colchester, CT). Additionally, the successful candidate must reside in one of the following locations: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, Texas, Vermont, Washington D.C.

How You'll Make An Impact

As a Data Analyst you will:

  • Work to prepare both qualitative and quantitative data and develop methods of analysis or improve existing methods.
  • Works under guidance to develop and run rigorous and innovative analyses of multiple data sources.
  • Assists in interpreting data analysis and developing actionable insights.
  • Provides data analysis with insights into best methods of presenting data.
  • Fact checks data and assists in aggregating and visualizing to support CR’s culture of data-centric product development and decision making.
  • May support basic statistical analysis and visualization to enhance and expand a wide variety of CR products and services.
  • Clearly and effectively communicates data analysis outcomes to internal stakeholders.
  • May perform other duties as required. If any such assigned duties are classified at a higher level, compensation shall be pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement between CR and the Guild.

You’ll Be Highly Rated If

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, informatics or statistics.
  • Some experience in applied data science and/or data analysis with a focus on blending innovative analytical approaches with compelling and effective visualization and product development
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software, including experience with Access and Excel. Ability to work with and/or write SAS statistical software preferred. Familiarity with data analysis and visualization software (e.g., SPSS, R, Python, Tableau) is required.
  • Very strong organizational skills, attention to detail; the ability to manage multiple projects and work within deadlines are also required.

Fair Pay & A Just WorkPlace

At Consumer Reports, we are committed to fair, transparent pay and we strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation. The target salary range for this position is $75k to $85k. This posted range is reflective of the NY/CA market. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will be informed by the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
