POSITION SUMMARY

The Purchaser at Terrabis is responsible for sourcing and procurement of products aiming to grow revenue and profitability. This role is critical for building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the proper and timely ordering and distribution of all products for all retail locations.
  • Source and procure cannabis assortment from vendors manage inventory models ensuring the right products are distributed to the correct location.
  • Monitor obsolete and non-moving materials and products. Identify and suggest items for disposition. Supervise the handling of products for sale returned or discarded.
  • Arrange and schedule regular training for the management and agent teams on vendor products
  • Establish maintain and assess inventory turn and service level goals as well as other KPI's for each location using history sales plans vendor criteria and market trends.
  • Ensure compliance with all state regulations and laws.
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends.
  • Partner with operations on inventory requests by arranging orders and transportation of products and materials.
  • Ensure incoming products are received and managed appropriately according to company procedure.
  • Develop strategic long-term procurement plans by analyzing market trends, customer preferences, and demand patterns to ensure the business stays competitive and anticipates future needs.
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing, terms, and product availability from vendors, maintaining a balance between quality and cost-efficiency.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure optimal partnership performance, including contract management, delivery schedules, and regular evaluation of supplier performance to meet company goals and compliance standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred but not required.
  • Proven strong negotiation skills, with the ability to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with vendors while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Strong cannabis product knowledge market trends and consumer insights.
  • 2+ years experience in retail buying.
  • Must be proactive with strong work ethic, attention to detail, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Inventory control and procurement experience required.
  • Meets timelines consistently and is able to effectively work under pressure.
  • Headset, BDSA, METRC, and or Leaflogix/Dutchie experiencea plus.
  • Strong analytic and data driven decision making skills.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment and computer software including word processing, database management, spreadsheet applications, and email.
