What You'll DoAs the Head of Fund Operations, you will be at the forefront of our client's mission to revolutionise their operations through the integration of information and technology. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including the Technology team, fund administrators, auditors, tax professionals, investors, internal teams, and external partners. Your responsibilities will span across multiple areas such as financial reporting, portfolio reporting, fund administration liaison, audit support, industry relationship fostering, policy development, process improvement implementation, among others. This role requires a high level of commitment to ensure departmental objectives are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
  • Work closely with the Technology team as a product manager in the development of new platforms and technologies.
  • Take responsibility for financial reporting and portfolio reporting.
  • Liaise with fund administrators for capital calls, management fee calculations, distributions, and financial statement reporting.
  • Support audits, tax procedures, and investor information requests.
  • Foster fund industry relationships and stay abreast of relevant regulations and best practices.
  • Ensure accurate fund accounting book and records.
  • Participate in UAT system testing of new platforms for internal teams and external partners.
  • Oversee quality, accuracy, and timeliness of deliverables.
  • Build and maintain relevant policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement process improvements.
What You BringThe ideal candidate for the Head of Fund Operations role brings extensive experience from a middle office or fund operations position within a fund manager, fund administrator, or financial institution. You have a strong understanding of fund valuation principles, financial statements, and accounting standards such as US GAAP and IFRS. Your quantitative and analytical skills are exceptional, and you have a keen interest in technology, which will be a significant part of your role. Your excellent communication skills, decision-making abilities, problem-solving skills, and conflict resolution skills will be crucial in this role.
  • Experience in middle office or fund operations at a fund manager, fund administrator or financial institution.
  • Preference for experience in hedge fund or liquid fund operations.
  • Experience in completing Operational Due Diligence process (e.g. AIMA) with external investors is a plus.
  • Familiarity with principles of fund valuation, financial statements, and accounting standards (e.g. US GAAP, IFRS).
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Interest in technology as product development will constitute a substantial part of the role.
